Testing centres busy in Rotorua and Taupō
The Covid testing centres at Rotorua and Taupō have been busy all morning, with lines of cars with people waiting to be tested. Traffic management is in both centres to help with traffic flows.
The hours of operation for the testing centres have just been extended, and both centres will now run from 9am-4pm Monday to Friday, and 9am-noon Saturday and Sunday.
Lakes DHB is also arranging for pop-up centres in Rotorua for the next three days, and these venues and operating times will be advertised as soon as they are confirmed.
Currently the Rotorua centre is at 2 Vaughan Road, and the Taupō centre is at 79 Miro St. Hospital services at Rotorua and Taupo Hospitals are operating as normal. If you have an appointment at Rotorua or Taupō Hospital, please make sure you attend it and if you can’t come, please call to advise us.
When you come to hospital, please use the register at the front door to sign in or use the covid tracer app to do it electronically.
If you are unwell, please do not visit anyone in hospital, stay away. Our hospital visiting hours are currently 10am-8pm. If you do come to hospital to visit a loved one, please limit visitor numbers so as to maintain social distancing. And please observe the rules for hand hygiene and cough etiquette.

If you're unwell
- If you’re sick, stay home. Don’t go to work or school. Don’t socialise.
- If you have symptoms of cold or flu call your doctor or Healthline and get advice about being tested.
- If you have been told to self-isolate you must do so immediately.
Masks
- At Alert Level 2 the risk of COVID-19 being present in the community is higher. You should wear face coverings in situations where physical distancing is not possible, like on public transport or in shops.
